You have calculated a cut/fill map and you want to export its volume information for inclusion in a report. The Export Volumes tool allows you to export your cut/fill volumes in a .csv format. Afterwards, you can use a spreadsheet to format the numbers of that file into a table.

Export Volumes is found in the Cut/Fill group of the EXPORT tab and is only available to use if at least one Cut/Fill calculation is visible in the project.

Overview

Quick Usage Guide

  1. Tick the Cut/Fill items that you want to export in the Project View.
  2. Go to the EXPORT tab and click Export Volumes.
  3. Select the name and the location for your .csv file.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Once completed, you can open the file with the Cut/Fill volumes in Excel or another spreadsheet application and create a PDF Earthworks Progress Report deliverable.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you only have one cut/fill Volume calculation to export, it is faster to copy the cut/fill Volume of a single cut/fill item using the clipboard icon in the top right corner of the Information box.
  • Use the Extract Cut/Fill Area tool to break down your Cut/Fill Volume items and export the volume values for a specific cut or fill area to a .csv file.
  • Use Copy Viewport tool to create a quick visual of your Cut/Fill map with volume annotations included that you can add to a report.
